How Many Data Protection Principles Are There?

Considerable discussion has always occurred over the issue of whether the EU General Data Protection Regulations contains six principles or seven. It's easy to see the basis for the disagreement, with six principles being laid out in Article 5(1). Then under Article 5(2) comes the accountability principle and the debate begins. In this article, we discuss the legal obligation to abide by each of the principles and provide evidence of compliance.
