T-Mobile rebrands its ad business, launches app analytics platform

T-Mobile has released a new application-based analytics platform called App Insights, allowing customers to track, segment and target T-Mobile users based on what and how they use the apps they have downloaded. T-mobile groups users into cohorts called personas that marketers can target for advertisements. The company will not use location data or Apple iOS data to power App Insights or its demand-side platform. The new service has also been rebranded as an advertisement rather than a marketing product.
