Google & Apple launch anti-tracking feature

In a joint statement on Monday, Google and Apple announced the introduction of an anti-stalking feature for Android 6.0+ and iOS 17.5. 

The new feature provides an alert if someone uses an AirTag or similar device to secretly track the userIf an unpaired Bluetooth-based tag is detected by the user's phone or tablet as they move around, it will trigger an alert, notifying the user of potential stalking. The initiative builds on their efforts announced last year to establish an industry-wide specification for Bluetooth tracking devices
