Clearview AI intends to offer tech to banks and private businesses

The Associated Press is reporting that Clearview AI intends to offer its technology to banks and private businesses for identification checks. Co-founder and CEO Hoan Ton-That said a new “consent-based” product would verify an individual’s face using Clearview AI’s algorithms but would not involve its collection of 20 billion images dedicated for law enforcement use. Ton-That’s remarks follow a suggestion in a recent court filing that the company is for sale. “We don’t have any plans to sell the company,” he said.
