The inaugural Data Trust Report 2025 by artificial intelligence (AI)-driven data management company Ataccama identifies the tension between the anticipated advantages of new technologies and their integration challenges, particularly concerning the importance of data trust.
Based on a survey of 300 data leaders from the US, Canada, and the UK, the report highlights the rapid technological evolution businesses face. It reveals that while 74% of responding organisations have adopted some AI-based solutions, only 33% have successfully integrated them across the company. The findings indicate that 54% of respondents, with 72% of data strategy decision-makers particularly concerned, feel the pressure of not implementing AI effectively, fearing a potential loss of competitive edge. The report underscores that trustworthy AI depends on high-quality data, with 51% of executives prioritising data quality and accuracy improvements, while 30% cite the challenge of managing large data volumes.
Mike McKee, CEO of Ataccama, emphasises the need to leverage trustworthy data for successful AI initiatives, stating that businesses that overlook this critical aspect risk failure in enhancing customer experience and achieving innovation.
