The latest analysis from AtlasVPN revealed that EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) fines totalled over €830 million, 36% lower than €1.3 billion in 2021. The report for the first six months of the year revealed fines totalled €100 million. Aside from the total amount, the other key highlight is that Meta Platforms paid over 80% of the fines.
UPDATE: 090123 - Geman law firm CMS has produced a website maintaining a record of the publicly known GDPR fines issued in the UK and throughout the EU. The enforcement tracker contains a fines database and running total.
