Thanks to laws like the UK Age-Appropriate Design Code and the California Age-Appropriate Design Code Act, Children's online safety is now a major focus for social media and streaming platforms. High on the agenda is the task of finding privacy-preserving approaches to age verification. In the absence of clearly defined guidelines concerning how to implement age verification processes without violating privacy laws, companies are being left to implement their own practices.
