500 online retailers using Magento targeted in data breach

Researchers have discovered a data breach of more than 500 online retailers that used the Magento 1 e-commerce platform. The attackers used a combination of an SQL injection and PHP Object Injection attack to gain control of the Magento store. Adobe stopped supporting Magento 1 in June 2020 and has urged customers to upgrade to the newer platform. However, Sansec found approximately 95,000 e-commerce sites still use the older version.
