Be careful handing over personal data in pubs and restaurants

In an interview with the BBC, the ICO warned that consumers should "think carefully about handing over personal data when ordering food and drink via their mobile phones." Since the reopening of pubs and restaurants last year, app or website based ordering has become commonplace. Still, venues should only be asking for personal data that is  "relevant and necessary."
