Scottish Council confirms Ukrainian refugee scheme data breach

Scottish Local Authority, Angus Council, has confirmed that a serious personal data breach has resulted in details about Ukrainian refugees along with the families offering to house them as part of the Ukraine resettlement programme being posted online in two Facebook groups.

The council has launched an investigation and is reaching out to those affected to inform them of the breach, apologise, and offer support.

Access to the data has since been disabled, and the breach has been reported to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO).
