UK government bans new Chinese surveillance cameras

The government has issued a security update on surveillance equipment banning the installation of Chinese "visual surveillance systems."  The removal of existing cameras should also be considered. In a statement, the Chancellor of the Duchy of Lancaster, Oliver Dowden, told MPs that a review "concluded that, in light of the threat to the UK and the increasing capability and connectivity of these systems, additional controls are required".
