GDPR a reminder to be prepared

France's DPA, the CNIL, has said that the two record fines issued by the ICO to British Airways and Marriott International are "a reminder" of the GDPR's role in cybersecurity. "These different cases clearly position the GDPR and the (DPAs) as effective and full-fledged players in cybersecurity, calling on organisations to properly manage their information assets." Meanwhile, Mishcon de Reya highlights how the fine against Marriott is a warning to conduct proper due diligence.
