Considerations for US Congress on EU-US Data Privacy Framework

The US Congressional Research Service has published a report on the EU-US Trans-Atlantic Data Privacy Framework and the supporting US executive order. The report suggests US Congress may consider legislation to extend safeguards for EU citizens' personal data in the event a future president revokes the executive order. The report also discusses how the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act Section 702 "may require amending" by Congress if the Court of Justice of the European Union (CJEU) finds the statute to impede the data privacy framework.
