EU Council ambassadors agree ePrivacy Regulation position

The Council of the European Union has agreed on a negotiating position on the ePrivacy Regulation after four long years. Congratulations to the Portuguese Presidency for succeeding where previous attempts failed to find an agreement. The negotiations with the European Parliament can now move forward, as part of the "trilogue" process. The IAPP has details on the new draft and reaction from industry professionals on the future of the ePrivacy Regulation. Reuters also reported the news, while Politico summarised years of negotiating and kicking the can down the road to get to this point.
