EU Council seeks to establish AI Governance priorities

On Friday, 21 June 2024, the Council of the European Union published a note from the Presidency of the Council of the European Union to the Permanent Representatives Committee about the EU's approach to Global Artificial Intelligence (AI) governance. Following the passing of the Artificial Intelligence Act (AI Act), the note highlights the need to identify relevant priorities on global AI governance, including tasks for the AI Office and objectives for international discussions on AI over the next 12 months.
