Extraterritorial effect of the US CLOUD Act in Europe

The Dutch National Cyber Security Centre (NCSC) has commissioned an analysis of the scope of the extraterritorial effect of the US CLOUD Act relating to data stored in the EU. It concluded that "European companies with data processing operations in Europe also sometimes fall under the scope of the American CLOUD-Act." It means that the US government could potentially access data stored locally in Europe.
