EDPB adopts certification as a tool for transfers guidelines

During its June plenary meeting, the European Data Protection Board has adopted guidelines on the use of certification as a tool for transferring personal data to third countries. The deputy chair of the EDPB, Ventsislav Karadjov, described the guidelines as "ground-breaking" while clarifying that they "provide guidance on how this tool can be used in practice and how it can help maintain a high level of data protection."
