EDPB consider GDPR a success but calls for cross-border harmonisation

In its contribution to the European Commission’s report on the application of the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), the European Data Protection Board (EDPB) has determined that the first five and a half years have been a success. However, while the board deems it too early to consider revising the GDPR, the EDPB acknowledged challenges remain and urges the Commission to adopt the new harmonisation law to simplify cross-border enforcement.
