EDPB publishes final Guidelines on Article 37 Law Enforcement Directive

On Wednesday 19 June 2024, the European Data Protection Board (EDPB) published the final version of its Guidelines on Article 37 of the Law Enforcement Directive (LED). The update provides guidance on the legal standard for appropriate safeguards to be applied by competent authorities under the article and an indication of the board's expectations of member states when negotiating legally binding instruments with third countries and international organisations.
