During its December plenary session, the European Data Protection Board (EDPB) will discuss disputed draft decisions of the Irish Data Protection Commission (DPC) against Meta's Facebook, Instagram and WhatsApp services. The decisions are subject to a dispute-resolution process under Article 65 of the EU General Data Protection Resolution (GDPR). The DPC recently announced a €265 million GDPR fine against Meta for its 2021 data breach in which the personal data of 533 million users ended up for sale online.
