In its December plenary session, the European Data Protection Board (EDPB) published updated guidelines on Article 48 of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) concerning data transfers to third-country authorities. The guidelines assist organisations in understanding the lawful conditions under which they can respond to such requests and, therefore, determine the legality of transferring the requested personal data.
The EDPB also approved an EU Data Protection Seal certification for the Brand Compliance certification concerning processing activities by controllers or processors.
