The European Data Protection Supervisor (EDPS) has confirmed that it intends to join the European Data Protection Board (EDPB) in its coordinated enforcement of data protection officers (DPOs). The EDPB announced its 2023 Coordinated Enforcement Framework (CEF) into DPOs on 13 March. The EDPS will focus on the role, responsibilities and tasks of DPOs within EU institutions. In a statement about the CEF, Wojciech Wiewiórowski, EDPS, said: “Cooperating with the EDPB aims to facilitate the consistent and coherent application of data protection law, its principles, and good practices across the EU/EEA.”
