EDPS reviewing EU Commission's Microsoft 365 compliance report

On Tuesday, 10 December 2024, the European Data Protection Supervisor (EDPS) acknowledged receipt of the European Commission's report on its compliance with Regulation (EU) 2018/1725 concerning the use of Microsoft 365 following the EDPS decision in March.

In a statement, EDPS Wojciech Wiewiórowski said: "The EDPS is currently reviewing the information provided to assess whether the European Commission has complied with the decision of March 2024. Given the extensive scope of the information and the complexity of the processing operations involved, this analysis will require careful consideration and will be conducted thoroughly within an appropriate timeframe."
