EDRi paper highlights how to enforce GDPR the right way

The European Digital Rights (EDRi) group has published a position paper outlining recommendations for the effective enforcement of the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). The paper, co-drafted by EDRi and Access Now, addresses the challenges of cross-border and national procedures, which can be lengthy and cumbersome, and recommends ways to ensure efficient and rights-respecting GDPR enforcement. While acknowledging the European Commission's proposed procedural rules to strengthen GDPR enforcement, the paper presents recommendations to guide inter-institutional negotiations to shape a harmonisation law that enhances legal certainty and prevents actions that undermine the trust in GDPR enforcement.
