Czech Presidency of EU Council offers fourth AI Act compromise

The Czech Presidency of the Council of the European Union has issued its fourth compromise text for the proposed EU Artificial Intelligence Act. The update focuses on requirements for law enforcement's use of AI, more transparency obligations, an implementing act from the European Commission along with additional penalty calculation factors. The council's Working Party will discuss the text on Telecommunications and Information Society on 25 October. If no further issues are raised, it will potentially be agreed to by mid-November.
