EU's AI Act receives thousands of amendments

The EU's proposed Artificial Intelligence Act has received thousands of potential amendments from each political group within the European Parliament. One of the more frequent issues is the definition of AI, with Parliament co-rapporteurs swapping between a broad definition and the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development's version. Other proposals include a potential full ban on facial recognition, updated governance provisions and expanding the scope to cover AI in the metaverse.
