GDPR could solve European Health Data Space secondary use issues

EU legislators are currently debating the best approach for the secondary use of health data under the European Health Data Space (EHDS) proposal. The proposal has been met with differing opinions, with some suggesting an opt-out option for patients who don't want their data to be reused, while others are calling for explicit consent from patients regarding the sharing of medical records for secondary use. The EHDS proposal is being translated into a system similar to the EU General Data Protection Regulation, which would provide more control to citizens over their data.
