Podcast: Max Schrems discusses EU-US Data Privacy Framework

Austrian lawyer, privacy activist and honorary chair of the not-for-profit organisation NOYB, Max Schrems, joined the EURACTIV Tech brief podcast to discuss the EU-US Data Privacy Framework (DPF).

Schrems talks about his views on the European Commission and his point of view regarding the need to “internationalise data protection”. He also discusses the challenge filled by French MEP Philippe Latombe against the DPF agreement, recently rejected by the General Court (GC) of the EU Court of Justice (CJEU), and that he would stick with the model used in the two previous cases, which would mean a national procedure will be needed in the first instance in order to have the case referred to the CJEU.
