Candidate emerges to succeed Wojciech Wiewiórowski as new EDPS

A shortlist of potential candidates is being prepared to succeed Wojciech Wiewiórowski as the European Data Protection Supervisor (EDPS).

Hielke Hijmans, a Dutch national and a member of the Board of Directors at the Belgian Data Protection Authority, has confirmed he is among the candidates for the position. Wiewiórowski has held the position for the past five years and is also seeking re-election.
