EU Commission opens DSA protection of minors guidelines consultation

The European Commission has launched a consultation calling for evidence on the Digital Services Act (DSA) guidelines to protect minors online. The guidelines will provide best practices and recommendations for online platform providers, ensuring the safety, privacy, and security of children. They will require online platforms accessible to minors to conduct regular child-specific impact assessments and consider ongoing efforts to develop harmonised age verification solutions. 

The consultation closes on 30 September 2024.
