The European Commission recently hosted a multi-stakeholder workshop on 4 October to gather input for the development of guidelines aimed at protecting minors under Article 28 of the Digital Services Act (DSA). The workshop saw the participation of approximately 140 experts and considered a range of scenarios related to online risks for minors. Those discussions addressed a variety of topics, such as cyberbullying, access to age-inappropriate content, and the proliferation of child sexual abuse material (CSAM). Participants identified best practices and recommendations to mitigate these risks while safeguarding children's rights. The Commission aims to publish draft guidelines for public consultation in early 2025 and adoption later in the year.
