EU Commission unveils draft Digital Services Act and Digital Market Act

The European Commission has unveiled the Digital Services Act and the Digital Market Act. Under the DSA, organisations could face fines of up to 6% of their annual revenue for violations of the act and 1% penalties for providing “incorrect, incomplete or misleading information” in reporting obligations or failing to “submit to an on-site inspection.” Platforms with at least 45 million users will be required to adhere to the DSA. The Commission has also published a Q&A document for the Digital Services Act.
