EU publishes tender to build DNS Infrastructure

The European Commission has published details of its plans to build a secure DNS infrastructure, known as DNS4EU. The high-performance service aims to provide resilience, cybersecurity data protection, and privacy to everyone located within the EU accessing or providing online services. According to the topic listed on the EU funding and tender opportunity page, the new DNS infrastructure proposition is needed because "the processing of DNS data can impact privacy and data protection rights" of internet users in the EU. This new DNS infrastructure will mean data protection and privacy can be governed by rules like the EU General Data Protection Regulation.
