EU & US launch competition policy cooperation

EU and US authorities have announced the creation of the Joint Technology Competition Policy Dialogue. Leadership from the US Federal Trade Commission, Department of Justice Antitrust Division and the Directorate-General for Competition of the European Commission will partake in "high-level meetings as well as regular staff discussion" to focus on "shared competition enforcement and policy issues" arising in technology markets. European Commission Executive Vice President Margrethe Vestager said a "longstanding tradition of cooperation in competition policy and enforcement" between parties led to the new group.
