European Commission opens DSA investigation into Temu

The European Commission announced on Thursday, 31 October 2024, that it had opened an official investigation into whether Chinese online retailer Temu may have breached the Digital Services Act (DSA) concerning the sale of illegal products, potentially addictive design features, recommender systems, and data access for researchers. The announcement follows an analysis of the risk assessment report provided by Temu at the end of September 2024.
