On Monday, 22 July 2024, the European Commission has announced further information concerning its AI Pact that it hopes developers and deployers of AI systems will sign up to in the interim period before the Artificial Intelligence Act's (AI Act) obligations take effect. The AI Pact is structured around two pillars.

  • Pillar I is a gateway to engage the AI Pact network of organisations that have expressed an interest in the Pact, promoting best practices and practical information on the AI Act implementation process.
  • Pillar II proactivly encourages early preparation towards AI Act compliance.
