EPRS introduces proposal for an AI liability directive

On Thursday, 19 September 2024, the European Parliamentary Research Service (EPRS) published an impact assessment concerning a proposal for a directive aimed at adapting non-contractual civil liability rules to artificial intelligence (AI). The proposal addresses the challenges related to the Artificial Intelligence Liability Directive (AILD) and the revised Product Liability Directive (PLD), highlighting the need for a more comprehensive coverage of AI-specific risks.
