EU Parliament issues report on AI Act

A joint report from the European Parliament's Committee on the Internal Market and Consumer Protection, and Committee on Civil Liberties, Justice and Home Affairs has been published along with their recommendations for the proposed Artificial Intelligence Act. The suggested amendments include a ban on predictive policing, a public AI technology registration requirement and further alignment with the EU General Data Protection Regulation. Advocacy group Access Now has examined the recommendations and praises the work from the committees.
