European Parliament finalises COVID-19 vaccine passports programme

The European Parliament has announced the final approval of the EU's COVID-19 certificates (vaccine passports). Citizens will be issued a quick response code carrying information proving vaccination, negative test result or recovery from a COVID-19 infection. The legislative text for the program must now be adopted by the Council of Europe and published in the Official Journal before the one-year program can officially launch on the 1st of July.
