On request by the JURI Committee, the European Parliament think tank, the Policy Department for Citizens' Rights and Constitutional Affairs, has published a study into the metaverse. While acknowledging the "Commercial, industrial and military applications of metaverse," the study examined the "opportunities and significant concerns for everyday life, health, work, and security."
The study also called for "Legislative initiatives promoting fundamental principles of law, legislative and judicial oversight, applied comprehensively across a broad range of policies, are necessary to make sure that metaverse will play a positive role.
