The Digital Markets Act trilogues have begun

The European Parliament, the European Commission and the Council of the European Union have commenced final negotiations for the passage of the Digital Markets Act. German MEP and DMA rapporteur Andreas Schwab said Parliament intends to use the trilogues to advocate for DMA becoming "the European tool to end unfair practices used by the largest digital companies." Schwab added that the regulation should ultimately "focus on the biggest gatekeepers first and make the rules for them even stronger." In December, the IAPP explored the privacy implications of the DMA and the DSA.
