FPF report highlights privacy impacts on LGBTQ+ individuals

A new report from  Future of Privacy Forum in collaboration with LGBT Tech has identified that LGBTQ+ individuals are disproportionately affected by online privacy violations. The study found that while LGBTQ+ communities were early adopters of online technology, it was also the case that they were more likely to experience harm. The report called on "policymakers and organisations to learn from past privacy and LGBTQ+ history" and to consider how data privacy can protect LGBTQ+ individuals while continuing to reduce "bias and risk to mitigate or even avoid individual and collective harms."
