GPA adopts data resolutions, shares closed session highlights

During the 2021 43rd annual Global Privacy Assembly virtual event in Mexico City, the GPA adopted several resolutions, including one covering Children’s Digital Rights. Under a separate resolution for Data Sharing for the Public Good, the GPA will establish a Working Group to identify approaches to share and use personal data, develop responses to data protection and privacy concerns and more. A resolution on Government Access to Data, Privacy and the Rule of Law advocates for principles for government access to private sector personal data for national security and public safety purposes, including data subject rights and redress to individuals. The GPA also shared highlights of its closed sessions.
