Government by WhatsApp case heads to Court of Appeal

The Good Law Project (GLP) confirmed it is to appeal the High Court's decision permitting the government's wide-scale use of private emails and messaging apps to conduct official government business. The GLP first challenged the government's use of personal devices to conduct official government business in July. At the time, Ministers argued they were under no legal obligation to avoid that use, to which the High Court agreed. The case will be heard in the Court of Appeal on 8-9 November.
