Police forces testing new retrospective facial recognition

A number of UK police forces are exploring retrospective facial recognition technology to examine video footage and photographs for criminals and missing people to cross-compare with custody records that could identify suspects who may have otherwise gone unapprehended.  UK company Reveal currently supplies standard body cameras to 30 out of the 43 UK police forces, claims 10 forces have been evaluating its new facial recognition technology’s effectiveness on clips and images of officers’ faces.
