IAB Europe appeals Belgian Data Protection Authority Ruling

IAB Europe has announced a formal appeal of the Belgian DPA's ruling against its Transparency and Consent Framework. IAB has refuted the regulator's findings, calling them "based on a misunderstanding of the facts and a misapplication of the law."

In related news, the Irish Council for Civil Liberties and Electronic Privacy Information Center has written an open letter to the heads of P&G, Unilever, AT&T, Bank of America, Ford, GM, IBM and Mastercard calling on the companies to end consent spam and delete personal data collected through consent popups within 14 days.
