Strong data protection law in the world's largest democracy is moving closer following the report submitted by India's Joint Parliamentary Committee in December, which followed two years of deliberations on the Personal Data Protection Bill, 2019. In two articles, the IAPP take a deeper look at what we can expect from India's proposed privacy bill. The first article discusses the proposed changes to the bill, while the second examines the requirement for large technology companies to appoint data protection officers tasked with ensuring organisational compliance.
