On the 20th of Aug, the National People's Congress of China has adopted a new privacy law, the Personal Information Protection Law (PIPL), which will come into effect on the 1st Nov 2021. In this first post in a two-part series, the IAPP break down the PIPL and see how it stacks up to the EU General Data Protection Regulation.
