EDPS calls GDPR enforcement policymakers back to the drawing board

During last week's EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) enforcement conference, European Data Protection Supervisor Wojciech Wiewiórowski said, "There is a path we can follow to finally deliver what was started 10 years ago." Wiewiórowski agrees with those saying that the GDPR lacks sufficient enforcement and has called on policymakers and regulators "to come back to the drawing board." He also outlined three structural obstacles the GDPR's architecture must overcome. The IAPP outlines the highlights from the conference, including thoughts from European regulators.
