EU-US data transfer deal could be finalised before end of 2022

Officials involved in the negotiations for the new EU-US Trans-Atlantic Data Privacy Framework offered cautious optimism as they addressed privacy professionals on Tuesday at the IAPP Global Privacy Summit 2022. European Commissioner for Justice Didier Reynders suggested that the "intense negotiations" could be completed before the end of the year. However, he warned that a finalised agreement is still a ways off with necessary procedural steps ahead for the EU and the US.
